Royal Vista is proud to offer multiple diagnostic imaging modalities including; digital radiographs, fluoroscopy, diagnostic ultrasounds, and CT scans!
Radiographs (“X-Rays”): Radiographs are often one of the first tests that we consider when evaluating a patient for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, lameness, pain, and many other presenting conditions. At RVVS, our state-of-the-art digital radiograph system provides optimal image quality as well as exceptional efficiency and minimized radiation exposure to patients and staff alike. When even the best radiographs are not sufficient to make a diagnosis, however, we have many other diagnostic options at our disposal.
Ultrasound: Diagnostic ultrasound enables us to further evaluate our patients – especially related to their soft-tissues. Internal organs such as the GI tract, liver, spleen, kidneys, urinary bladder, heart, thyroid/parathyroid organs, etc. can be seen in more detail with ultrasound than with radiographs. Ultrasound can also help us evaluate muscle and tendon problems as well as any number of potentially-problematic “lumps and bumps.” When abnormalities are identified, ultrasound can also assist us in obtaining tissue samples (via fine needle aspirate or tru-cut biopsy) in a minimally-invasive manner.
Computed Tomography “CT” Scans: We are excited to offer a leading-edge CT scanner that provides optimal image quality. Multiple areas of the body can be imaged, including: the brain, thorax (lungs), abdomen, entire spine (including intervertebral discs), pelvis, skull and both the fore and hind limbs (in particular the elbows and tarsi).
Fluoroscope: Fluoroscopy, which we are also capable of performing with our CT scanner, provides a real-time, moving radiograph image, and can be very useful in diagnosing a range of disorders from collapsing trachea to esophageal motility disorders. Lung-tissue abnormalities and more can also be evaluated using fluoroscopy.
With all of these imaging modalities available to us, rest assured that we will do all that we can to provide a diagnosis and treatment plan for your pet in the most efficient, cost effective, least invasive way possible.
